The
Registration Process
Mount
Airy Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, nationality,
and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities
made available to students of the school. It does not discriminate on
the basis of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in the administration
of its educational policies, admissions policies, or any other school
administered programs. It does reserve the right to admit only those students
whose educational needs can be met by the school.
Registration
Dates
Current Mount Airy Christian Academy and Mount Airy Bible Church families
are given priority during an early registration session each year. Applications
will be taken from new families beginning Monday, March 3, 2008 to fill
any vacant positions in K-11. MACA will maintain a waiting list for each
class; however, it is not reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
Waiting list placement is at the discretion of the administration.

Registration Fees
Registration fees must accompany the application in order for the application
to be processed. Registration fees become non-refundable when a position
is offered to your family and a Letter of Acceptance is issued.

Student
Testing
All new students and incoming kindergartners will be tested to determine
their place in our program. We want to ensure each child’s success
in school. Testing arrangements are explained under the Registration Process
section. Review of a student’s previous records will also be used
in determining placement at MACA.
Probationary Period
All new students are under a probationary period of 45 days. At the end
of that time, the students will be evaluated to determine whether they
will continue at MACA. In addition, if a child is accepted and later becomes
a discipline problem, the school reserves the right to have full discretion
in the discipline process and to place such students on corrective probation
for a reasonable amount of time.
Dismissal
Mount Airy Christian Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student
who does not cooperate with the total educational process. We also reserve
the right to dismiss any family non-supportive or disruptive to the school.
This includes such areas as gossip, bad-mouthing the school, failure to
support the staff or administration, and poor treatment of other families
or students. These fall under scriptural teaching in James 3:5-9 and Romans
16:17-18.
The
Registration Process
The following procedures must be followed to apply for admission to Mount
Airy Christian Academy:
1.
Submit the following to the school:
• Completed Application for Enrollment (one per applicant)
• Registration Fee (per applicant)
• Signed Parental Pledge (one per family)
• High School Student Pledge (one per student grades 9-12)
• Secondary Student Questionnaire (new students only; grades 6-12)
2.
New students and incoming kindergartners must complete a testing session
before they can be accepted to MACA. Testing sessions for grades K-5 are
approximately one hour in length. Testing sessions for grades 6-12 are
approximately 1½ hours in length.
Please call the office
to schedule your child’s testing time. Students applying for grades
1-12 must bring copies of past academic records to the testing session.
Failure to provide all pertinent school records may result in the student’s
expulsion from the school. Should a student be refused admission to MACA
based on admission testing performance, fifty percent of the Registration
Fee will be refunded. No refunds are given after a Letter of Acceptance
has been issued.
3.
Once all the criteria listed above have been completed, a Letter of Acceptance
will be sent to you. If MACA offers a position to your child(ren), as
indicated by the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance, the registration
fee becomes non-refundable at that point. Your child’s enrollment
for the 2009-2010 school year becomes official with the Letter of Acceptance.
